GLORY in MEANDER WAY

I have had the wonderful opportunity recently to go on many walks with my dog Charlie - he is getting old now and we can't walk that long together.  I have found a new route that is just about 30 minutes long.  It takes us behind our subdivision where a builder has broken ground to put in some large homes.  The name of the street we end on is Meander Way.  I thought this name was interesting because meander means to take a winding course or to wander idly.

Sometimes in our Christian life we may feel that the winding course that GOD has us on will never end.  We tend to be very impatient with what HE is doing within us.  But I have learned to embrace these winding paths, whether they are painful or just insightful.  I feel the more I try to do my own meandering, the more I sit idle.  When I use my own strength, I tend to stay stuck in whatever I am doing... there seems to be no growth.

Our paths may not be winding the way we want them to... that is ok though.  I would rather choose HIS path than my own.  I trust that HIS path will be straight and secure for me, no matter what bumps in the road I may encounter.  Proverbs 15: 24 says, "The path of life leads upward for the wise."  I am wise if I follow HIM...if I choose HIS way...with confidence.

It is very hard when you can't see the end of the road... when your mind goes over and over the same issue or problem you have.  But when we stop... when we look to GOD... when we look at the final destination, everything changes!  It's as if CHRIST is standing there in the middle of the road, with arms open wide just waiting for us.  Because HIS LOVE is better than this life, we need to keep our eyes and focus on the destination.  HE really is just around the bend waiting for us!

We were created to GLORIFY HIM in all things.  We were created and given the gift of choice;  an opportunity to choose HIM... to choose LOVE... to choose HIS PATH ALONE.  HIS WORD gives light to our path.  HIS grace and mercy point us in the right direction.

We will GLORIFY HIM when we reach our final destination... and I believe we will be able to see clearly our winding path behind us...all leading towards HIS HEAVEN... OUR DESTINATION!

JEREMIAH 31:9 "I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble."

This POST is dedicated to my SON, who with much courage, walks an upward path daily...
