BODY of CHRIST
Earlier in the year I was invited to be with a group of women who are such an example of the BODY OF CHRIST to me. There was much prayer poured into this group even before it came together, and I felt HIS hand on it all from the first meeting.
We have been in a study of Daniel, doing one chapter every week.... our wonderful teacher Mary, was a wealth of information and wisdom. We were able to meet in a beautiful Christian home, with lovely décor and of course plenty of food!
Most of us did not know each other, but over time, a comfort level developed. I soon realized that I was surrounded by these women in CHRIST, all of whom had their own depth of faith and brought to the table a security in GOD.
Each heart present each week showed a love for GOD, a love for others, and a love for HIS WORD! We became a small community of HIS disciples, coming together each week to learn and grow and to carry on with CHRIST'S ministry into each of our own worlds.
It was easy to see that each woman was blessed with her own spiritual gifts.... we were all different in that way. But what made us one with one another, was a passionate love for GOD and in that passion, we were living our lives with HIS joy being poured into us and spilling out upon each other. This pouring out of HIS love continued long after we left and went home.
On each Wednesday, we were able to come together to support one another, to be vulnerable, and to be authentic.... all characteristics of one body, each doing their part, which put together, made a whole. In our learning, HE truly blessed us!
Now our study is finished, and I am sad, but will never forget all that I learned, and new friends made throughout this process. One body.... one CHRIST.... one love.
I pause.... and give thanks, for this group of women.... for how CHRIST managed to bind us together with HIS love and HIS grace. HE was always there in our midst.... HE poured HIS blessings on us.... one body....one true love.... one fellowship.... one with CHRIST.
HEBREWS 10:25 " Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
P.S A Special THANK YOU to our wonderful hostess each week: Judy Ford.... a sweet soul with such a heart and joy for GOD!!
