GUTSY FAITH
Do you know anyone who has gutsy faith? You know the type......they wear their faith on their sleeve like it is their shirt. They are outspoken, joyful and full of life. Their eyes speak something different. When you look into them, there is a deep well there, a mystery of sorts, but full of love and compassion......all for people and their Creator. This sort of person, has seen tragedy, has had their heart broken continually, has been in the valley more than on the mountain, and has risen from all of this heartbreak to rise up on wings like an eagle, all with renewed strength.
Gutsy faith is like that.....the more one is knocked down by life, the more one gets up and conquers all knowing GOD is by their side no matter what. Life doesn't get a person like this down for long, because they know with all their heart that GOD is in control. They are along for the ride and what a thrilling ride it is! And ultimately, because of GOD being their pilot in life, they can't wait to see what is around the next corner, good or bad. All of life is a wonderful journey, not just something to get through, not just living in the future or the past. No, they live wholeheartedly in the precious present and their joyous faith spills over onto all they meet.
They will admit to you they are not perfect, that their sin is ever before them, but they also have a deep understanding that they are forgiven and therefore would not be where they are in life had CHRIST not reached down and grabbed hold of them with HIS sustaining love and grace.
I want to learn to be like this.....gutsy, outspoken, joyful, and thrilled that I am forgiven. Getting to this point means FREEDOM. Freedom from worry, freedom from perfection, freedom from game playing and trying to impress. It is a freedom to just be....being fully who you are in CHRIST. This type of gutsy faith is bound to encourage others, people can't help but notice something different. And isn't that how CHRIST was too? People knew HE was different, HE spoke different, HE acted different. HE didn't try to fit in at all. And neither should we.
ISAIAH 40: 31 "......but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
