I will soon have the honor of traveling to New Mexico this month. When you arrrive there, a sign greets you that says: "LAND OF ENCHANTMENT." The word enchantment means to charm greatly or to delight.
I have made this trip once before and I must tell you, my eyes have seen the most beautiful landscape that I have ever witnessed in my life! When you cross the Colorado boarder into New Mexico, the land opens up into a vista that is flat, with mountains surrounding you on all sides. It is breathtaking and it continues on for many miles... around each bend, is another delight to see!
All of this makes me think how wonderful our GOD is, and how HE really is present all around us... we just need to look! When we look, we need to glorify HIM. His landscape is just a small preview of what will be in Heaven.
The following is a PSALM I wrote looking at those mountains:
O LORD HOW I SEARCH FOR YOU...
IN MY LIFE, MY STRUGGLE, MY BEING.
I SEARCH FOR YOUR PEACE ALL DAY LONG...
AND LISTEN FOR YOUR VOICE, EVEN IF ONLY A WHISPER.
MY JESUS, YOU DRAW ME TO YOUR WELL...
YOUR LIVING WATER WASHES OVER ME.
A PURE WHITE GRACE I DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND...
MY CUP OVERFLOWS WITH YOUR TENDER MERCY.
MY THANKSGIVING CONTINUALLY REACHES UP...
YOUR GIFTS ABUNDANTLY SHOWER DOWN.
MY LOVE FOR YOU GROWS DEEPER...
YOUR LOVE ABIDES FOREVER WITH ME.
YOU SURROUND ME WITH YOUR BEAUTY...
YOUR LANDSCAPE IS BREATHTAKING.
LORD YOUR VERY NAME MEANS SALVATION...
I WILL GLORIFY YOU NOW AND FOREVER!
ISAIAH 6:3 "... THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY."
